Our Beliefs I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.
Amen.
The Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church is a conservative, evangelical denomination which holds to the historic Christian faith as revealed in the Bible. Our beliefs are summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith.
The ARP Synod is the central body of government for our denomination. A copy of the Westminster Confession of Faith can be found there along with other explanations of our doctrines. Please visit their home page for more information.
“It is the dogma that is the drama – not beautiful phrases, not comforting sentiments, not vague aspirations to loving-kindness and moral uplift, nor the promise of something nice after death—but the terrifying assertion that the same God who made the world lived in the world and passed through the grave and gate of death. Show that to the heathen, and they may not believe it; but at least they may realize that here is something that one might be glad to believe.”
