Our pastor, Rev. Peter Kemeny, grew up in Sparta, New Jersey. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. Before coming to Good News Presbyterian Church in 2001, he served for ten years at the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Burlington, North Carolina, where he focused on preaching and youth ministry. Persuaded that "all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful" (II Timothy 3:16), our pastor aims to explain the Bible clearly and apply it concretely. Peter has interned with the Orthodox Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Church in America and served in Belgium with the missions agency, Operation Mobilization. His wife, Becky, is a native of Clinton, Illinois. They have four girls, Heather, Haley, Sara Bess and Mary Grace. The Kemenys look forward to making new friends and staying in Frederick, they hope, for the rest of their lives. |
